The College of Social Sciences and Philosophy Freshie, Shiftee, and Transferee Council (CSSP FSTC) has released its initial list of candidates for the coming FSTC elections for the Academic Year 2021-2022.
According to the CSSP FSTC Election Code, “the initial list of candidates shall be released three (3) days before official confirmation to accept contestations or any legitimate concern regarding the integrity and eligibility of a candidate to run for a council position.”
In accordance with this provision, links for the filing of slate applications with the candidates as well the filing of grievance forms may be accessed through the CSSP FST Council Facebook page until October 4, 2021.
Running for the position of Chairperson is Carl Dominic Aguilar from the Department of Political Science.
Ishi Desiree Aguirre from the Department of Political Science and Symon Dela Cruz from the Department of Linguistics are both running for the Vice Chairperson position.
Sociology major Gerard Kyle Caranzo and Political Science major Jan Audrey Aranda have both filed their candidacies to run for CSSP Representative to the University Freshie Council (UFC).
Meanwhile, the Internal Affairs Officer position has Reian Chantale Dela Puerta from the Department of Sociology as its lone candidate.
Hans Matthew Antiojo, a Philosophy major, has filed candidacy for External Affairs Officer.
The candidates for the position of Academics Officer are Phylicia Ianna Abary from Psychology and Jade Allana Chlei Opeña from Political Science.
Running for Publicity Officer is Ma. Angelic David from the department of Sociology.
Sophia Beatriz G. Cruz, Philosophy major, has filed candidacy for the Finance Officer position.
As for the Department Representative positions, listed below are the initial candidates:
- Chito Areco Jr. for Anthropology Department Representative
- Angela Nicole Mistranza for History Department Representative
- Vittorio Jose Mari Morales for Linguistics Department Representative
- Nelson James Bernal for Philosophy Department Representative
- Ram Christian Cua and Pio Lorenzo Gavino for Political Science Department Representative
- Robby Nicole Vergara and Elijah Solomon for Psychology Department Representative
- Gabriel Camilo and Angelika Paredes for Sociology Department Representative
The deadline for the submission of the candidates’ General and Specific Points of Action has been extended until October 4, 2021, as per the CSSP College FST Electoral Board (CFEB).
Under the 2020 CSSP Constitution of the CSSP FSTC, it is stated that the regular election period must be conducted no later than one (1) month into the first semester of the Academic Year.
All CSSP FSTs are eligible to vote and run as candidates for all the council elections. They may also choose to file for slate registration under any candidate after the initial list of candidates has been released.
