With no Anthropology Department Representative since the start of their term and the resignation of the Finance Councilor midway, the College of Social Sciences and Philosophy Student Council (CSSP SC) announced the opening of applications for both positions from January 17 to 22, 2022.
According to the CSSP SC, the requirements for application are a curriculum vitae, general and specific action plans, and a scheduled interview.
Applications come underway after no candidates vied for the positions when a special election was called last November.
The council also released the adopted policy for emergency appointments to be carried out during the application process for the open positions.
The policy outlined who are eligible to apply and what requirements must be submitted, assessment of applicants, publishing of the campaign materials, and the public viewing of a livestream of the General Assembly scheduled for appointment deliberations.
It also contained guidelines for deliberation as well as the appointment of the Secretariat and Logistics committee, together with the College Student Electoral Board, to exercise oversight of the applications, deliberation, and announcement of emergency appointments.
The councilor position was vacated by former CSSP SC councilor and Finance and Special Projects co-head Bob Villarin last October due to health reasons. The Anthropology Department Representative has been unfilled for months ever since the incumbent council assumed office.
A credible source says one person has applied for the Anthropology department representative position while a student is yet to apply for the councilor position.
