According to the official report of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Calabarzon, the victim and his companion Antonio Dalit, were killed after they reportedly traded bullets with the authorities. Cops killed two alleged drug abusers including a 16 year old boy in a recent anti-drug operation in Laguna.

Sixteen-year old Johndy Maglinte was shot and killed at around 4:30 pm in Barangay Canlalay in Bi\u00f1an City.

According to the official report of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Calabarzon, the victim and his companion Antonio Dalit, were killed after they reportedly traded bullets with the authorities. PNP also stated that they served a warrant of arrest against Dalit when the alleged encounter happened.

However, Maglinte\u2019s live-in partner strongly claims that despite being involved in illegal drugs, he doesn’t own any firearms. Maglinte’s live-in partner further claims that cops restrained Johndy and was thrown into a muddy area before being killed. Maglinte was reportedly asking the cops not to shoot him while lying face down, according to his live-in partner. She also added that the cops forcibly dunked the victim’s face in the mud. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In contrast to PNP’s report, the two victims weren’t killed simultaneously. Johndy was allegedly shot dead after witnessing the policemen shooting Dalit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anti-drug operation killings rapidly increase as COVID-19 cases reach an all-time high each day. Instead of devising scientific and medical means in addressing the protracted pandemic, the Duterte administration channels its efforts and funds in budgeting the state forces, in its notorious crackdown on its people.

Maglinte\u2019s case comes close to 17-year old Kian delos Santos\u2019 murder in 2017 and as multiple accounts of extrajudicial killings continue to rise, the victims\u2019 families alongside the masses continue to clamor for justice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
