Isang Facebook account, alyas \u201cBob Dinelli,\u201d ang nagpadala ng death threats<\/em> kay Altermidya staff and safety officer Adrian Puse nitong ika-19 ng Disyembre, Linggo. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHuling pasko <\/em>(mo<\/em>) na ito<\/em>,\u201d ang isa sa mga panakot-mensahe na ipinadala. \u201cUunti-untiin kita<\/em>\u201d, \u201calam ko ang bahay mo at pinagtatrabahuhan mo<\/em>,\u201d panindak pa ng account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inilahad din ni Dinelli ang pangalan at address ng kapatid at nobya ni Puse. Dagdag ng Altermidya ay nakatanggap din ng mensahe ang nobya ni Puse bago ang insidente ng pang-aabuso. Ika ng nagpadala ay may \u201cinjustice\u201d na nagawa si Puse at hinihikayat ang kanyang nobya na makipagtulungan para sa pagresolba nito.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nagbahagi rin ang nagpadala ng mga kathang detalye ukol sa mga pinaroroonan ni Puse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ang Bob Dinelli<\/em> na account ay kamakailan lang umano ginawa at ipinasara na ng Facebook matapos maireport ang pang-aabuso.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kamakailan lang ay tumama ang bagyong Odette sa bansa; kung kailan mas kinakailangan ang mainam na daloy ng impormasyon, mas tumindi rin ang mga cyberattacks<\/em> sa mga online outlets ng mga pahayagan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ulat ng ABS-CBN ay Disyembre 11 nang salakayin ang kanilang website ng Distributed Denial of Service (DDOS) na nagdulot ng pagkaudlot sa pagtakbo nito. Samantala, Disyembre 15 nang lantakan ang Rappler ng parehas na pag-atake; Disyembre 16 naman sa VERA Files.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

May ilan pang tala ng mga pag-atake sa mga alternative news website ng bansa. Kasama rito ang pag-atake sa Altermidya nitong taon din lamang.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ang mga sugo ng pag-atake ay natalunton sa mga IP address sa ilalim ng Department of Science and Technology (DOST) at Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP). Subalit, ang mga panawagan ukol sa pormal na imbestigasyon nito ay pinabubuluanan ng awtoridad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Buhat ng lumalalang mga pag-atake, nangangamba ang National Union of Journalists of the Philippines (NUJP),  para sa nalalapit na halalan\u2014kung kailan ang mga kritikal na suri sa impormasyon ay \u201ccrucial in addressing disinformation, misinformation and political rhetoric.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Higit ding pinalalakas ng NUJP ang panawagan para sa imbestigasyon at pagpapatigil sa mga pag-atake sa mga pahayagan at mamamahayag.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tikas naman ng Altermidya, \u201cindependent journalists will not be coerced against these attacks against media freedom, especially now when our responsibility of truth-telling is more urgent than ever.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
