Hindi na lang panalo kay Kuya Will o budol ang spam ngayon, pati pangangampanya, umaabot na rin sa mga text messages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ayon sa ulat ng ilang mga residente ng Ilocos, nakakuha sila ng mga text messages<\/em> kung saan ineenderso si Ferdinand \u201cBongbong\u201d Marcos Jr. o si Bise-Presidente Leni Robredo. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nakasaad ang sumusunod na mensahe sa mga text message <\/em>na nag-eendorso kay Robredo: \u201cSi VP Leni lamang ang may kakayahan, talino at tapang para maging Presidente at Commander-in-Chief natin. #AngAtinAyAtin.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maalala ring may kumalat na post kung saan ginamit ang format ng emergency alert messages, sa bisa ng panukala ni Neri Colmenares, para ikampanya si Marcos Jr. sa pagkapangulo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Itinanggi naman ng spokesperson ni VP Robredo na si Barry Gutierrez na may kaugnayan sila sa insidenteng ito. \u201cThe campaign does not have any such text operation, and this is the first time I am hearing of this,\u201d sabi niya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ang kampo naman ni Marcos Jr. ay wala pang tugon sa nasabing spam messages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Isa si Mei Kriezl Ulit sa mga nakakuha ng text noong Marso 8 at sinabi niyang wala naman siyang problema sa mga mensaheng pulitikal ngunit mas nakakabahala ay kung paano nalaman ang kanyang cellphone number. Pareho din ang sentimento ng iba pang mga nakatanggap ng mga text spam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHow did these people get our numbers? What extent of our privacy do they have?,\u201d pangamba naman ng isa. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ayon sa ulat ng Rappler, natrace ang numero na nag-endorso kay Robredo sa isang DITO sim card, pag-aari ng crony ni Duterte na si Dennis Uy, at ang kay Marcos naman ay sa isang grupong “Ilocandia” na hindi tukoy ang numero.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Matatandaang isang impormasyon na hinihingi sa mga contact tracing forms ay ang numero. Kasabay nito, naglipana rin ang mga spam at scam na natatanggap mula sa mga di-kilalang numero.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nakasaad sa Data Privacy Law (DPL) na ang cellphone number ng isang indibidwal ay bahagi ng personal na impormasyon at naprorotektahan din ito ng batas na ito. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Noong nakaraang Oktubre, iginit rin ng National Privacy Commission (NPC) na kinakailangang magbigay ng pahintulot ang mga mobile user<\/em> at may kalayaan din silang piliin kung anong klase ng mga mensahe ang nais nilang matanggap. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sa kabila ng batas sa data privacy, naging batas na ang SIM Card Registration Act noong Marso 4, kung saan dapat irehistro ang numero sa lehitimong pangalan at valid ID bago makabili ng SIM card, na binatikos ng iba’t ibang grupo dahil umaapak sa data privacy at maaaring magamit sa state surveillance, kasabay ng Anti-Terrorism Act at National ID System.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pangunahing pag-aalala ay ang seguridad at privacy ng mga mobile<\/em> users<\/em> lalo na at nagkaroon na ng kaso ng mga data leaks at hacks sa gubyerno sa nakaraan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ayon kay Merwin Alinea, isa sa mga tagapagtatag ng UP Internet Freedom Network, \u201cThe loss of accessibility, erstwhile introducing risks to individuals by making them vulnerable to scams, spoofing, and data leaks will only worsen the disadvantaged position of the masses, more so in a period where we are reliant on long-distance communications.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Paalala naman ng NPC sa mga kumpanyang telecom, dapat nilang hawakan nang maayos ang personal na impormasyon ng kanilang user lalo na ngayong panahon ng eleksyon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
